It’s February, the month of love.
For many, Valentine has a sour taste as it represents a time when ignorance got the better of them.
Excitement and youthful exuberance make many teenagers and young people throw caution to the wind and engage in sexual activities, all in a bid to have fun and enjoy Valentine’s Day.
The truth is, every action has a consequence.
And when you have people with a sense of low self-esteem craving for love and affection, tendencies are that they would be exploited.
Then you hear them crying wolf, “he broke my heart, used me and dumped me”.
Wake up and smell the roses.
He wasn’t in love with you. He was in lust.
And if he said the right words, and did the right things, it would get him what he ultimately wanted. Your body.
So the Hashtag #ValentineReset Campaign is a campaign to create the awareness of self-love and teach the basic principles of a successful love relationship.
Save Our Teens
Statistics in 2009 put the sale and consumption of condoms around this period at 2.5 million. That’s staggering and really heartrending.
There’s a salient message of sex that goes around during Valentine, especially for young people.
The internet has made available sexual content that wasn’t available in the last decade.
And with peer pressure, the naive teen is almost set up to give in.
With adverts of teddy bears, gift items, beautiful dinners, exotic places, you almost feel cheated if you don’t have a date on Valentine’s Day.
So you have many young people, especially girls, exchange their bodies for gifts and nice treats without any regard for the consequences of these actions.
During this campaign, we want to show young girls different ways they can love themselves and develop themselves to become the person of value that a great man of integrity will want to commit a lifetime with them.
We have a number of life coaches, relationship coaches who will share practical tips to increasing your self-worth and love for the person in the mirror.
