When the purpose of a thing is unknown, abuse is inevitable.
To some, achieving purpose is left for a few. Those who know what they are doing.
for a number of us, the question, “what is your life’s purpose?” leaves us with an uneasy feeling in the pit of our stomach. It sounds sacred. And you are not sure if you know what yours is.
But everyone has a dream. We have desires and are working towards fulfilling them.
These dreams and goals are the “What”. Things like, “I want to be a doctor/lawyer/businessman”. It’s one thing to know what to do, and another to know why you want it.
Your purpose is tied to why you do the things you do.

All through history, the men and women who made an impact in their time had a firm grip of this knowledge.
Living a life of legacy has the following essential characteristics.
Sense of Direction
When you live with purpose, you live intentionally.
You don’t just go through the motions of life, eating, sleeping and waking.
Every action and reaction is largely predetermined. It’s just like having a compass. The sailor on the high seas will tell you how important a compass is. Especially on stormy nights, he can trust his compass to bring him to shore safely.
Without purpose, every road seems like the right path.
Strength of Character
This is what will be the differentiating characteristic of two people who have suffered failure or one form of setback. You are able to show resilience when everything seems blurred.
It helps you stage a comeback when you fall.
A quote by Nietzsche nicely sums up his philosophy on how people were able to survive the camps, without losing the will to live:
“He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.”
So having a “why” is very crucial in surviving intensely unfavorable conditions.
This is why you can’t live a life of purpose without having a healthy self-esteem. They are interwoven. Your self-esteem is the very core of who you are and your purpose is a reflection of that inner image. Living for a legacy has more to do with giving, which is a crucial step in building a positive self-image. Click here to watch the video
Strength of Association
One will chase a thousand, two will chase ten thousand.
This doesn’t just apply to the married folks. It depicts the power of the right association.
More often than not, when you are filled with purpose, you find yourself attracted to people with similar dreams and goals. You form synergies and increase your knowledge and sphere of influence.
It’s no wonder that the great minds of today have a way of forming and maintaining great friendships and partnerships.
When you have the right kind of people surrounding you, they help you nurture your dreams and you get results faster than if you had gone solo.
A keynote to remember is:
If you are the smartest person in a room, then you are in the wrong room. – Anonymous
Always surround yourself with mind you can learn from. Don’t be satisfied with what you know. There’s always something new to learn.
You are not a mistake. You can write your story today. Live a life of legacy. Live intentionally. Follow the positive affirmations on instagram.
