Welcome to the 8th month of the year. August.
It seems like this year has been on fast-forward. There’s so much happening, and if caution is not taken, one can become a bystander, watching things happen without doing anything yourself.
What has happened to the goals you had for yourself at the beginning of the year?
We entered January so optimistic, setting resolutions and goals, etc. But statistics show that only 8% of those who make resolutions at the beginning of the year accomplish them.
What’s stopping you?
Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you are usually right. – Henry Ford
Half the time, when we set goals, out inner critic whispers, “are you sure you can do it?”Your success in life is tied to the quality of thoughts you constantly have. Think right. Click To Tweet
There are two enemies of success resident in the mind.
Fear and Doubt.
They are twin brothers.
They hover and haunt you until every last possibility of achieving success is snuffed out. That is until you decide to evict them.
You can’t pursue success and achieve it while playing cards with fear and doubt.
Fear highlights all the bad things that could happen while doubt gives reasons why the good things you desire will not happen.
Fear says, “what if you make the call and get a “No”?”
Doubt says, “Are you sure it’s people like you that she will listen to?” Maybe you need to do more work on your proposal, if only you had someone influential to help you.
You see how that goes?
We all have these conversations in our heads and until you decide to kick fear and doubt aside, they will call in their big brother, PROCRASTINATION.
This will ensure that you don’t make any effort.
You give yourself reasons, some of which might be legit, why you shouldn’t make the necessary effort.
Like I said here, it doesn’t matter what obstacles your mind throws at you. What you have conceived in your heart, just do it.
Life doesn’t remember those who have good intentions. Life remembers those who DO.
If you realize that you are handicapped in knowledge, then seek knowledge. Read more on how to achieve your goals.
One last Word.
The GOD factor.
There is something about grace that I find amazing.
Grace is you getting the good that you don’t deserve. It’s the accelerated progress that comes to a person walking in the center of God’s will.
It multiplies your efforts and blesses your harvest.
God is able to make the remaining five (5) months of the year so fruitful that it will make up for the barrenness of the previous months.
There is nothing impossible with God.
The word in Isaiah 43:19 says
Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
What a promise.
If we ask without a doubt then we shall receive and our joy will be full.
Ask with your eyes on God and on his Supreme ability to bring anything to pass. He is Omnipotent. All-powerful.
Do it differently this time. Hold on to God. Don’t feed your fears. Grow your faith. And see how things fall in place for you.
Have an Audacious August!
